BEGINNERS RALLY OBEDIENCE CLASS

6 Week Session : $100.00
Some obedience training needed.

Rally is a sport in which the dog and handler complete a course that has been designed by the rally judge. The judge tells the handler to begin, and the dog and handler proceed at their own pace through a course of designated stations (10 - 20, depending on the level). Each of these stations has a sign providing instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. Scoring is not as rigorous as traditional obedience.

The team of dog and handler moves continuously at a brisk, but normal, pace with the dog under control at the handler's left side. There should be a sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during the numbered exercises and between the exercise signs; however, perfect "heel position" is not required. Any faults in traditional obedience that would be evaluated and scored as a one-point deduction or more should be scored the same in Rally, unless otherwise mentioned in the Rally Regulations. After the judge's "Forward" order, the team is on its own to complete the entire sequence of numbered signs correctly.

Unlimited communication from the handler to the dog is to be encouraged and not penalized. Unless otherwise specified in these Regulations, handlers are permitted to talk, praise, encourage, clap their hands, pat their legs, or use any verbal means of encouragement. Multiple commands and/or signals using one or both arms and hands are allowed; the handler's arms need not be maintained in any particular position at any time. The handler may not touch the dog or make physical corrections. At any time during the performance, loud or harsh commands or intimidating signals will be penalized.

Rally provides a link from the Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) program to obedience or agility competition, both for dogs and handlers. In addition, rally promotes fun and enjoyment for dogs at all levels of competition.

IN HOUSE TRAINING OBEDIENCE & PROBLEM SOLVING

BOARD & TRAIN SPECIAL!

At B. C. Dog Training we still feel that the bond between owner and dog is intensified when both learn together. But sometimes time gets in the way. We can still help. Our In House Training is a little different from most Board and Train programs.

We have 2 different programs at B. C. Dog Training, and hope one will fill your needs.

PROGRAM 1

This is our 4 week minimum program. Dog learn the basic commands: Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Stay Close and Heel and Manners! Common behavior problems are also addressed. The major difference in our program is the fact that they will also be incorporated into our Doggy Daycare Program also. Daycare will help with the dogs socialization skills and help correct rude manners. Most Board and Train programs do not have the type of daycare program we do. All dogs play together no matter the size, small dogs learn to respect large dogs and large dogs learn to respect small dogs.

Cost for Program 1: $500.00 per week or $2,000.00 total.

There will be a meeting when you pick up your dog to review all training and what is needed on your part to continue your dogs training when you take them home. The WHOLE family must attend this meeting.

PROGRAM 2 "MAJOR ISSUE TRAINING "

This program is more intense with a dog that has more issues... Aggression towards dogs and small critters, Destructive Behavior, Total lack of Attention, Leadership Problems with both adults and children, Mouthiness, Brutish and Bullying Behavior, and Dominance Problems. Your dog will be exposed to new situations daily to help overcome issues.

The minimum of 4 weeks is recommended but after evaluation the first week we may recommend additional time with us up to 6 weeks. Major Issue Traning is not for all dogs. This Camp will help your dog understand Leadership and Direction. There will be a meeting when you pick up your dog to review all training and what is needed on your part to continue your dogs training when you take them home. The WHOLE FAMILY MUST ATTEND this meeting.

You will have a 2 hour private lesson before you can take your dog home.

Cost for Program 2: $600.00 per week or $2400.00 total.

Call 847.566.1960 for information.

CGC AND TDI TESTING
As scheduled
Age: CGC over 6 months, TDI over 1 Year old

We have testers in, usually twice a year, to conduct tests and award certificates to those passing for Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dogs International. Once passed and awarded, contact your insurance company. Sometimes there is a discount.

DAYCARE
Appointments required. All dogs must evaluated by B.C. Dog Training prior starting daycare.
Call 847.566.1960 or email Dobes8@aol.com for information.

What is Daycare all about? Our daycare program is offered Monday through Friday, 50 weeks of the year. In daycare, puppies and adult dogs learn to play with other dogs in playgroups that can range from 4 to 10 dogs. Puppies learn not to nip as they play; other puppies and adult dogs will help corect this problem. Daycare will also help in potty training, crate training, barking and chewing.

Older dogs can benefit from daycare by socializing with other good mannered dogs. Also, as the dogs get older, their bladders are not as strong and they need to relieve themselves more often, or they might need medication during the day while you're at work. We can take care of them so you don't have to worry.

The best yet. Are you just tired of letting your dog be a couch veggie while you're at work or running errands? Is your dog gaining weight due to lack of exercise? Daycare is the answer! We can help your dog shed those pounds without cutting back on the diet.

DAYCARE INCLUDES:
Playtime with or without other dogs, lunch if needed, naptime, time-outs if needed to control hyper behavior, T.L.C., medications if needed, total supervision by qualified professionals. Use our service once a week or as often as five days a week.

Going to work early, drop your puppy/dog off as early as 6:00 a.m. Working late, pick up your puppy/dog 6:00 p.m. And even special arrangements can be made for pick-ups after 6:00 p.m.

So, if you are busy, under the weather or have a pet under the weather, if your dog is bouncing off the walls, or having a problem potty training......B.C. Dog Training can help!

BOARDING
Call 847.566.1960 or email Dobes8@aol.com for information.

Boarding your dog at B.C. Dog Training is like no other boarding facility in Lake County!

We do not house the boarders in kennel runs, which sometimes confuse your dog and messes up potty habits, we use crates, both wire and vari depending on the dog. The amount of time spent in the crate is probably LESS than if the dog was at home with you!

Boarding dogs will start their days at 4:30 am with one of our daycare employees, helping clean and make coffee!

When the normally scheduled daycare dogs start to arrive at 6:00 a.m. they will join with them to play until naptime at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Naptime continues until 1:30 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. it is back out to play until 4:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m. All boarding dogs are fed and watered in their own crates. Time is allowed to digest and rest once again. At 6:00 p.m. they are let back out. While classes are being run, the dogs rest.

At 9:30 p.m. once again the dogs are let out to run and play until 11:30 p.m. All dogs are put up for the night at 11:30 p.m. to sleep until 4:00 am where they start all over with their busy day!

Stop by to see our facility, talk to the employees, and check out the daycare area.
